It’s only a series of daily miracles and blessings that enables me to write these words to you at all. A few years before the pandemic was even a thing, I walked out of a job I had held for many years. It was a move of sheer desperation. It took every ounce of willpower I had to do something that the world would have called me insane for doing.

I left with no backup plan, no notice, none of the things that modern society tells you that you need to have…

Marveling at the world anew.

The “me” of 5 years ago is gone. In its place is someone I never even believed I could become. The things I once loved, the ideas I held tightly to, even my life experiences shaped me into who I had become, and most of that has been left in the past.

This shift wasn’t due to some tragedy or challenging event. It happened gradually but surely, and the shift came from within me, rather than from the outside. The most shocking to me was probably my relationship with video games.

From the very young…

Let go of the need for complexity and criticism.

It seems everywhere you look on Medium these days, there’s some new variation of article with a title like: “Follow these X steps and make Y dollars”, or “The definitive guide to writing for a living” and similar. On the one hand, I think that’s wonderful that people have found success by following some path that worked for them, and I wish them, and others, continued success along their chosen paths. But the fact is, there is no one right way to write. …

Medium’s simple, elegant design is wonderful. I’ve just missed the memo on these features.

There are plenty of things I absolutely love about Medium. Enough to fill an article someday of its own. (There’s an idea!) But there are a few features where I’m either still wondering about their usefulness, not seeing the advantages of a specific approach compared to other platforms, or just not experienced enough yet to know what to do with them in general.

Hi Celine, thanks for reaching out! I can point you in the right direction for sure. This is a good question, because it's more complicated than it should be honestly. I'm not sure which of these ways you will prefer, so I will just list them all just in case.

Some may require you to download a particular software and make an account (Steam for example) and in most cases, getting the full version of Bejeweled 3 on PC will be paid software rather than free, but these are all legitimate services and platforms at least.

It’s easier than ever to keep your articles relevant. Here’s my simple approach.

I only recently stumbled upon an article by Paul Ryburn, M.Sc. sharing an approach to creating index pages. I really appreciated the idea and proceeded to implement something similar on my own Medium profile page. And now with a recent update to Medium, the new Lists feature has made this a far easier process for everyone to set up.

One way you can use the new Lists feature is to help keep your older articles from being lost to time. As we all know, the chances of…

There is a sub-genre of slice-of-life anime known as Iyashikei. Works that fall under this label focus on providing a gentle experience. Watching shows of this nature leaves the viewer with relaxed feelings that can help heal and uplift one’s spirits.

There’s a distinctly different feeling to these kinds of shows compared to the average fare. Even if you’ve never watched anime before, these are all good shows to start with. …

Nowadays most title screens in video games are static or simple in nature. They are often meant to be quickly bypassed in favor of players jumping straight into the action. But in the 1990s and early 2000s, it was common for games to have more dynamic and interesting title screens that caught people’s eye.

Many games had more to show when you left them running on their title screens. The best examples are appealing enough that players would commonly start up the game just to experience them. …

Conventional wisdom (and many Reddit users) suggest that auto mode in Mario Kart Tour is not the most useful way of collecting the green event token coins for use in the event shop. While it’s true players can maximize event token collection playing for themselves, auto mode is perfectly viable for farming those tantalizing green coins.

What Kind Of Event Is It?

Making event tokens in auto mode relatively viable and lucrative has multiple aspects to consider. What you’ll find the most helpful depends on what the conditions are for the event period.
